Philadelphia a shocking & sad accident
Mexico-registered Learjet 55 air ambulance crashed very soon after take-off from the Northeast Philadelphia Airport. Unfortunately, everybody on board, along with one person on the ground, was killed. The number of those dead and the ruined homes and vehicles near Roosevelt Mall in the Castor Gardens neighborhood prove that the accident brought about a monstrous explosion.

Flight Details and Victims
Under Med Jets’ control as a subcontractor for Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, the plane was traveling from Philadelphia to Tijuana International Airport in Mexico, with a layover plan at Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri. On board was a young female patient just out of her life-saving treatment in the States, her mother, a doctor, a paramedic, the pilot, and the co-pilot. Sadly, though, all six victims, who happened to be from Mexico, were killed in the crash.
Ground Impact and Casualties
The crash led to severe injuries on the ground. Including the death of a single person, out of which 19 people were burnt down and injured in fire and explosions. Emergency teams were able to put out the flames and help the wounded. Most injured were treated on the spot, but three people were hospitalized.

The Philadelphia Police Department established a citywide emergency response to control the fires and deal with the crisis. The city’s Office of Emergency Management instituted road clogs near the crash and told the residents to avoid the area.
Investigation Underway
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the FAA are investigating to establish the cause of the crash. The NTSB investigator is here this evening, January 31, and we expect additional officials to join on February 1. Besides that, the plane probably vanished from radar space within thirty seconds of lifting its nose, which caused the staff not to press the details of this disappearance and to worry simultaneously.

The incident has caused the most profound sorrow among the local and global communities. Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker expressed her deepest condolences and thanked the first responders for their quick actions. In conjunction with city officials, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro managed to make sure that all the necessary state resources were available for assistance. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, the victims’ families, and is also with the Secretary of Foreign Affairs in helping her/someone to provide the victims with what they need.
